🩸 Bleed Kits into Bedfordshire
Wingman x VERU

Across Bedfordshire, Wingman Mentors led a county-wide mission to install life-saving bleed kits in every ward — empowering communities to respond when every second counts.
Thanks to support from the Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner (OPCC) and VERU, 103 kits were installed in shops, cafes, and public spaces, including rural and high-footfall areas.
Each kit provides vital equipment to stem catastrophic bleeding before emergency services arrive.
🚨 What We Achieved:
- 104 bleed kits installed across Bedfordshire with 25 earmarked locations
- 60 Ward Areas across 3 boroughs visited with kits hosted
- 2 awareness sessions delivered, with 18 more scheduled for 2025
- 6 young people mentored
- 95 volunteers recruited to support community kit monitoring
- 450+ leaflets distributed | 2,500+ Google Map views
- Youth administrator hired (under 18) to support tracking and mapping
🔄 What’s Next:
- Final kits to be installed by May 2025
- 18 awareness sessions will run in Luton, Bedford & Central Beds
- Ongoing volunteer-led kit checks via Wingman WARDens
- Exploring school-based delivery and regional expansion
