At Wingman Mentors, we work alongside local authorities, community organisations, and families to support young people impacted by gangs, serious violence, county lines, and Child Criminal Exploitation (CCE). Our mission is to help these individuals break free from dangerous environments, exit gang activity, and rebuild their lives. CCE often goes alongside with gang involvement and exploitation, which is why we focus on identifying and providing tailored support to those affected.
Our community-based programs are designed for young people aged 9-25, offering personalised support through mentoring, counselling, educational assistance, and access to critical community resources. We work directly with families, schools, and local organisations to create a network of care that helps these young people move away from exploitation, build positive relationships, and break the cycle of violence and criminal activity.
By addressing issues like gang violence, county lines, and CCE, we aim to offer practical solutions and a way out for young people trapped in these systems.
Wingman Mentors’ Anti-Radicalisation Awareness works in line with the UK government’s PREVENT program to help prevent young people from being drawn into extremist ideologies.
We recognise that radicalisation extends beyond violent extremism. Today, young people are increasingly exposed to harmful ideologies through social media, including misogyny, harmful gender stereotypes, and extremist narratives that can manipulate and shape their beliefs in damaging ways.
Our service offers mentoring, group workshops, and educational resources to help young people understand the dangers of these ideologies and develop critical thinking skills.
We focus on empowering them to reject toxic beliefs, including gender-based violence, harmful views on masculinity, and harmful online communities that promote violence and discrimination.
Through this approach, we provide a safe space for young people to explore their views and understand how these ideologies can impact their personal relationships and future. Our goal is to build resilience against these dangerous narratives and promote healthier, more positive worldviews that encourage respect, equality, and empathy.
Wingman Mentors provides targeted mentorship for young people who are at high risk of becoming or are already involved in criminal activity or facing significant life challenges. Through one-on-one mentoring and community-based support, we help guide young people away from harmful behaviours, providing them with the tools to make positive life choices and build a better future.
Our mentorship programs are designed to address both short-term needs and long-term goals, offering a pathway out of high-risk situations. We work closely with young people and parents or carers to help them build resilience, learn life skills, and stay engaged in positive community activities.
Our team provides tailored guidance and support, helping them navigate the challenges they face and empowering them to make healthy choices that lead to personal and academic success
Wingman Mentors provides essential support for families experiencing child-to-parent violence and abuse (CPVA), a form of abuse that can be physical, emotional, verbal, or coercive.
CPVA can affect parents or caregivers from all backgrounds, and it can have devastating impacts on family dynamics and mental health. Our service offers a safe, confidential space for parents and caregivers to seek help, understand the root causes of the abusive behaviour, and explore strategies to stop the cycle of violence.
Our experienced team works with both parents and children to address the underlying causes of abusive behaviour, providing a combination of counselling, mentoring, and collaboration with social workers, therapists, and other professionals. We aim to restore peace and improve family relationships by focusing on healthier communication patterns and conflict resolution.
CPVA is a serious issue, but with the right support, we can help families heal and create a positive, safe home environment for all members.
We understand the challenges faced by children of incarcerated parents and offer specialised support to help them cope with the emotional and psychological impact of parental imprisonment. Our program Separate Sentences provides an open space, mentoring, and resources to help children understand and manage their feelings, while also preventing negative effects of long-term trauma.
By supporting children through this difficult time, we aim to break the cycle of disadvantage and ensure a brighter future for the next generation. Our team works with schools, families, and local organisations to provide a network of care that helps children thrive despite the challenges they face.
Our RESET, REFOCUS, REBUILD program is specifically designed to provide structured support to young people in secondary schools and further education. The program focuses on early intervention with aims to prevent permanent exclusion (PEX) and provides ongoing mentoring to keep students engaged in their education, reducing the risk of a negative outcome.
This flexible, adaptable program aims to address both academic, social and emotional needs, supporting students who may face challenges that hinder their outcomes and success. Our goal is to empower students to achieve their potential by focusing on:
Our program aims to foster leadership, resilience, and confidence, helping students develop essential skills that they can use in their education and beyond
At Wingman Mentors, we recognise the profound impact Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) can have on young people’s emotional well-being, behaviour, and academic success. Early intervention is crucial to prevent the long-term effects of trauma, and we provide tailored support that helps children navigate these challenges while building resilience and emotional strength.
Our ACE-based programs offer early support and intervention in a variety of ways:
We aim to provide early intervention and create safe spaces where children and young people affected by ACEs can grow and achieve their full potential. Raising awareness and providing the right support can change the course of a young person's future
Wingman Mentors is committed to engaging with schools, youth settings, and local authorities to provide ongoing support for young people at every stage of their life journey. Our focus is on creating a safe, supportive environment that helps students overcome barriers and hurdles and achieve their full potential.
We offer mentoring, workshops, and tailored interventions that support young people from primary school through to higher education. For primary schools, our interventions focus on helping children transition smoothly into secondary school by equipping them with coping tools, resilience, and self-regulation skills. In secondary schools, our primary goal is to prevent permanent exclusion (PEX) by providing early intervention and support for students at risk of falling behind or facing more negative outcomes. In further education our focus falls within addressing academic focus and social factors to achieve a journey to success
We also collaborate closely with schools, youth groups, and local authorities to identify young people, including those at higher risk, who need additional support. By working together, we ensure that these young people receive the guidance, resources, and tailored interventions necessary to stay on track and reach their full potential.
If your school, youth setting, or local authority is looking for a trusted partner to support your students’ academic and emotional growth, we’re here to help
